What information can prospective employers be given by former employers in the states of Florida and Nevada?

I am looking for a new job and believe a former employer may be able to give false reasons about why I left. So I am hoping to find out just what, and how much, information can be given to prospective employers about my employment with the former company. I would appreciate any help, esp. from people who have gone through this or those in the HR or law field. What information can prospective employers be given by former employers in the states of Florida and Nevada?first of all your former employer can only say the you worked their and is legally responsable if they say otherwise. The problem is you have to prove that your former employer is screwing you over
