Where can I get information about looking after a dog?

I am looking into buying a dog and would like to know if one is suitable for my lifestyle. Where can I find some good information?



I've never had a dog before.Where can I get information about looking after a dog?I too have always had a dog in my life. When I was a little kid I had a St. Bernard.



I think taking care of a dog comes natural to you once you have one(kinda like being a parent). But I also think I am good with animals is because I am an animal lover and it just comes natural to me. I have had many dogs in my life and love them all still. Books do help and lots of research will help narrow down what kind of dog you want and what will fit your lifestyle.



One book that helped me was The Everything Dog book. On one of the pages it has different lifestyles and what dogs to get if that is your lifestyle.



In 2005 I had gotten my first Lab mix and I got different Labrador books to look at to learn about them.



It might even help to volunteer at an animal shelter to see what dogs come in and take care of them that way you can get the hang of taking care of them or even foster one.Where can I get information about looking after a dog?

I would think about ordering some books about dog care, there is alot more to it than you think! Also buy a book on the breed you decide on once you feel really ready.

Dogs are a huge tie, they need to be your friend and part of the pack, not just an animal you keep for fun.

Google it, get a puppy book...talk to friends of yours that have or had dogs. There is plenty of information out there.Where can I get information about looking after a dog?You should go to a pet store and ask them there are dog magazines and everything over there. just dont give them canned foods and foods with veggies in them because they get sick and die (not very good for dogs).
