"Drug use is information that is rightfully private, and only in exceptional cases can an employer claim a rig?

Drug use is information that is rightfully private, and only in exceptional cases can an employer claim a right to know about such use."

Defend or oppose this statement.

How is your response to this assignment consistent with the moral philosophy? Explain."Drug use is information that is rightfully private, and only in exceptional cases can an employer claim a rig?The statement is wholly indefensible. No one has the right to even USE illegal drugs. And no employer should ever be forced to extend a job offer to one.

Only a drug user with an addled brain would even try to defend such a stupid statement."Drug use is information that is rightfully private, and only in exceptional cases can an employer claim a rig?If you are talking about recreational drug use - there is no inherrent right to privacy for any criminal act. This is why a persons arrests and convictions are a matter of public record.

If you are talking about legal medications - it fails on the basis of the employer's responsibility to provide a safe working environment. An employer cannot provide a safe working environment if they have no idea who has shown up to work after taking some cold medicine that has the warning: "Do not drive or operate equipment." Additionally, the ADA may require the employer to make accomidations for employees who are on certian medications (such as providing a place to store insulin).

Thus - there is a reasonable requirement for an employer to be aware of any medications an employee is using."Drug use is information that is rightfully private, and only in exceptional cases can an employer claim a rig?i see no mention of legal or otherwise here...........

so i'll say this. medical info should all be held private. it is something between you and your doctor. no one else!

but that's all looking like it's going the way of the dodo. why in the world would anyone want the government involved in their health care?
