With a bayonet, I'd suggest that you look up websites that feature various wars, that have been fought, and check out the rifles, and the equipment shown, especially in any pictures. Not knowing the general design of the bayonet, that you have, it is difficult to offer advice as to what era it might belong to. Also bayonets that have been used in one war, may have been used in a succeeding war, due to a lack of arms, in a certain area or era.Where can I find information on old weapons?you should check the libraries or yahooWhere can I find information on old weapons?
Photograph the bayonet and upload the image to a picture host.

Then post the question and photo to ANY living history / re-enactment / militaria collectors forum. Someone will be able to tell you the time period, type, etc. of your bayonet.
