I have come into the possession of an old bayonet. Not sure what war it came from, and I would like to find out where it was and what time it was used in. With a bayonet, I'd suggest that you look up websites that feature various wars, that have been fought, and check out the rifles, and the equipment shown, especially in any pictures. Not knowing the general design of the bayonet, that you have, it is difficult to offer advice as to what era it might belong to. Then post the question and photo to ANY living history / re-enactment / militaria collectors forum. Someone will be able to tell you the time period, type, etc. of your bayonet.
