I have a friend, she's fifteen, who repeatedly has unprotected sex. She says that she doesn't have the resources to get the pill and that she's allergic to latex, although I told her there are latex-free condoms.
Last month, it looked like she was pregnant. Both tests were negative, but she's still putting out like crazy! She doesn't seem to understand what will inevitably happen!
Please, please, PLEASE, help me keep my friend from making one of the biggest mistakes she will ever make! How do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?Getting pregnant is the least of her worries.
She's probably already contracted at least one STD, like herpes or genital warts. Those are not curable. If she's lucky she won't get AIDS, but she'll probably get syphilis or the HPV virus.
You can tell her all this until you're blue in the face, but it probably won't do you any good. Just don't share any soda bottles or cups with her, you can get oral herpes that way from her. If she asks you why you won't share, tell her you don't want her diseases. How do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?
She obviously doesn't want to use protection. Remind her that besides an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy, she could catch a plethora of STDs (if she hasn't already). But talking to her hasn't done anything, she wants to whore around and she won't stop doing it. The only way you're gonna come even close to stopping her promiscuous behavior is telling her parents. She'll probably hate you for it, but at least you're being a good friend. If her parents are aware of her being so sexually reckless, they will likely step in and try to prevent it as much as possible. Nothing says their attempts will always work but telling them will certainly do more than trying to reason with her yourself. How do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?Simply baby sitting won't help your friend. It's like playing with a puppy for a day. All you see are the high points! Do you know anyone who has a young baby that maybe would let your friend come stay and spend a day or two walking in her shoes? What she really needs is an eye opener that only being around a bayb for a few days through the good and the bad and all that happens to fully understand what it is they are getting into. I'd be worried about your friend if I were you, it's my experience that the girls who are giving it out to just anyone have been sexually abused themselves and don't understand how incredibly valuable they are. I wish that was something you could teach them, but unfortunately it's something she has to want to learn...to value herself first and see that sex is a gift that should be given away to someone special and not just anyone who knocks on her door and throws a dinner or a movie or a look her way.How do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?
tell her that there are more important things in life than sex. Yeah, it feel great, but is it worth having a child with someone when you are 15? Most health clinics will give girls FREE birth control without parents knowledge, but i think you have to be 16 or 17.. even if she is not worried about getting pregnant, she still has to worry about stds.. I almost got my gf pregnant having unprotected sex.. we are LUCKY that we don't have a 3 or 4 year old running around right now. it scared us straight. tell her not to wait till its too late, and tell her most of all that you care about her and dont want to see her life thrown away over something as preventable as thatHow do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?sex feels nicer without the condom. xD
just make a plan to take a train, bus, or find a friend with a car to take you to the nearest city that has a "Planned Parenthood" center. They will give her what she needs to be safe (i.e. the pill, latex-free condoms, etc...) without the need for parental consent. You can go with her so she won't feel awkward.
pregnancy doesnt sound as bad to some people as does, infections and stds and other things unprotected sex can cause. give her pamphlets of the worst stds you can find and give them to her, maybe that will show some light to her if not she is an idiot and cant be saved until she learns it on her own.How do you convince a teenage girl to stop having unprotected sex?
go tell her parents. they should know. what your friend is doing is irresponsible. not only can she get pregnant she can get stds (if she doesn't have one already). go look up the planned parenthood clinics in your area (google it or look in the yellow pages). she can get free birth control pills there as well as information on all the stds she can get. but first tell her parents! this is serious!
Well, as a friend you can only advise her. What I would do is talk to her parent(s), why don't you all visit some hospitals, tell her to get a job watching kids (this should change her mind), or if all else fail tell her she can watch my two. I have a newborn and 5 year old who will drive her nuts.
I hope this helps.

Go buy her some damn latex free condoms and go get her the damn pill or tell her mum with a unkown letter or somthing and warn her of the amount of deseasers there are.
This is really serious it can harm her in so many ways its insane!
Make her watch a vaginal birth on youtube or something. Believe me it will prob make her think twice.
Also there are places that give free birth control pills. She should try and go there if you can find her a way to get there.
Her parents need to be notified of her horrible behavior.. and if that means writing an anonymous letter so be it. Something needs to be done before she catches a serious STD that will kill her.
Wow, tell her parents. That is horrible behavior. She will be pregnant eventually probably sooner than later.
it sounds like she may WANT to get pregnant, try approaching her by asking her about that.
Let her babysit a bunch of screaming babies.
Let her babysit a baby.
You either educate her or you look her up in a room. Educating would probably be easier and less illegal. It sounds like she doesn't care and this probably carries through to other area of her life. She is acting out....but, why? Is she depressed? Does she have problems at home? Maybe she was raped in the past? She needs to care about herself, her life and her future and realize that having a kid or an STD is going to jeopardize everything.
I'm also allergic to latex and I plain hate condoms, but there are non-latex condoms out there. If you like casual sex, condoms are mandatory. Tell her if she hates condoms so much and won't use them then she should at least only have sex within a committed relationship. Casual sex is only for people who use condoms, it's one of the perks. Given that she is a minor she can likely get the pill for free. Get her to make an appointment to a sexual health clinic, and go with her. Doctors will also often give out free samples. She could also find a job since birth control pills really aren't that expensive, she wouldn't have to work many hours. If she won't use birth control at all, at least go over basic sex ed such as the menstrual cycle with her so she knows when she can get pregnant and to avoid sex at that time, or, at least use protection during that time of the month.
You might want to find ways of bringing sex education into your school curriculum, talk to the board about your concerns (without specifics) and how you think the class could benefit from a sex educator and sexual health information. You could even see about getting permission to set up your own sexual health information booth over lunch hour for a week or something.
