Right as a girl it may hurt a bit or it may not depending on the person you have sex with. The first couple of times I had sex it wasn't really that good but that was because of the person I was with ( a bit too enthusiastic). Afterwards I enjoyed it a lot and I still enjoy a really healthy sex life.



I know you are seeking the communities opinion but only you can choose if you think it is over-rated. What I will say however is that sex for me is great. The closeness you feel to someone you care about is great and is definately a lot of fun as you explore more of what makes you human.
