I want it to be just a simple outdoors, box corral about the size of a stall that I can house my horse in for going on trail rides over the summer. I really would prefer to use wood, I'm avoiding using the metal or portable kind. Any tips? Thank you!Where can I find information on how to make a permanent pole corral for my horse? The pipe corral panels are the best for your purpose.
You can buy light weight 12-foot panels for $50 each if your horse respects the fence, or you can get heavy weight panels for around $100 each.
I use the heavy weight Crowding Corral Panels that have J legs and square corners. Square corners are better for horses, so they do not catch a leg, should they rear up.
Wood corrals are permanent structures, and they are edible. If a horse runs into a wood post, there is no give. The horse can get hurt.
If they run into a pipe panel, the panel can bend and absorb the impact. Also, if your horse rolls and gets a leg or two stuck under the fence, you pull a couple pins and the horse is free...rather than looking for a saw or hammer to remove boards and nails.Where can I find information on how to make a permanent pole corral for my horse? This didn't really answer my question, because I was looking for an idea of how I might be able to build permanent corrals if possible, but there is good information and I appreciate the research. I have searched on google, but I couldn't find what I wanted which is why I came to Yahoo Answers. :-)
