Is it hard to petition the courts in Ohio to obtain my biological brother's information?

I am considering petitioning the courts in Ohio to get any information on my biological brother (who was given up for adoption). He is of age, he just turned 22 this year. I wanted to know if anyone ever petition the courts in Ohio? If so, was the processing challenging? How long did it take to finally go to court? If you did receive information, how long did it take for you to get it from the courts? Is it hard to petition the courts in Ohio to obtain my biological brother's information?I don't know about Ohio specifically, but I do know that in most states the courts will only allow you to get identifying information on an adoptee if you have a compelling reason (i.e. medical condition that requires donation from a biological relative, need to notify him of genetic condition, etc.). Without a compelling reason, the courts are unlikely to order his identity be revealed because it would violate his right to privacy. You may be able to get the adoption agency to act as a go between and ask him if he would consent to his contact information being given to you (assuming they know how to locate him). Or check the adoption reunion registries to see if he has registered as an adoptee who wants to be contacted by birth relatives.
