How do you download information on a regular cd disk?

When my computer goes belly up and I have to reboot it Is there any way that I can put information on a regular cd disk for safety.? I do not know to burn cd's was hoping that I could just stick it in the tower and try to download the disk. Thanks in advance Need instructions please.How do you download information on a regular cd disk?It's easy to put information on a disk all you have to do is put the disk in the computer, put whatever you want on it and on the left-hand side of the window there will be the option that says "Write these files on to disk" you click on it and there you go
