How do i tell the sex of my tangerine Gecko?

i just bought a tangerine geko but i have no idea what sex it is.if you have a website or know how to tell a boy geko from a girl geko please tell me.How do i tell the sex of my tangerine Gecko?Males have 2 bulges at the base of their tail (near their anus/butt), this is where their hemipenes are (reptiles have 2 penis's - one each side). Males will also have a row of pre-anal pores (which are small, round and transparent) going horizontally across between his legs.

Females will not have hemipene bulges, their butt area will be smooth and level, with a small slit each side (these are their vaginas - they have 2).

Females also do not have pre-anal pores that are as clear as males', they are virtually invisible.

You did not say how old your gecko is, this visual test is mostly accurate when your gecko is 6 months of age or older - as this is when the things i mentioned become visible.

most lizards have to be probed. he would be too small for you to do it your self take him to the vet or pet stor they should know.



some lizards like bearded dragon have things lik bigger heads or a small horn or somthing when they are older but I don't know them all.
